This week I gathered all those precious accessories that we used INSIDE our favorite Dooney & Bourke handbags.

Vintage All Weather condition Leather Dooney & Bourke accessories have a embossed label on the inside that says "Dooney & Bourke Made in United states"

If the Made in USA portion is missing, well that tells you it was non Made in the USA ! Whether it is an authentic Dooney & Bourke item, will depend case by example.

Authentic Dooney & Bourke Wallet with Equestrian Manner Closure

For years I called this wallet an Equestrian Wallet because it has the aforementioned closure as the famous Equestrian Manus bag.

But I finally got my easily on a 1992 Dooney & Bourke itemize that showed the actual model name and number.

Dear Paula,

I recently constitute a very nice vintage-ish Dooney & Bourke crossbody bag with a matching wallet at a thrift store for $12.l.  The pocketbook is very well made, just it does not have a "made in" label within.  I can't tell if information technology was removed or never there at all.  The wallet does have a white cloth label that says "Made in China", but nothing in the bag.  The pocketbook is green and tan with a combination of leather and suede and has black interior with 3 compartments.  I'd dearest for yous to take a await at it and tell me what y'all recollect of the pair.  Did I benefit for $12.fifty or did I just throw coin away?

Paula – did the Calvary [sic] Body Bag ever come with a flat strap – not rolled? I have seen several bags that expect authentic just the strap is a apartment strap not the rolled strap?

You ask about a Calvary Bag so I'll take this opportunity to clarify Calvary vs Cavalry, a common word mix up.

According to the bible, Calvary refers to a hill outside Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified.

Cavalry refers to soldiers on horseback. They usually carried a cartridge pouch on their belt. Information technology is this item that the Dooney & Bourke Cavalry Body bag was modeled subsequently. Here are some onetime Us Cavalry cartridge pouches and a miniature model of a soldier with one on his chugalug.

As far as your question, although you don't provide measurements, the photos practise announced to have the features and be of the scale of a Cavalry Body Bag.

In all the photos in this and all other Dooney & Bourke catalogs, the Cavalry Body Bag is shown with a non-adaptable rolled leather shoulder strop with trigger snaps.

The strap on your purse is the one that is usually seen on some other Dooney & Bourke models.

Considering your bag has a snipped tag, that could indicate the wrong strap was put on the manufactory, thus the bag was sold every bit a "2nd" or as "imperfect" at an outlet store.
